Advanced Diagnostic Breast Center

Forest Campus

New name, new technology and expanded services

Advanced Diagnostic Breast Center provides up-to-date, precise and accurate technology for breast imaging and bone density testing. Our lead interpreting radiologist is female and we're staffed with all female technologists who are specialists in mammography. Our new facility features spacious dressing rooms, a new waiting room and patient rooms that reflect a feminine touch.

New flexible compression paddle makes mammograms more comfortable.
Patient-friendly compression paddles mean the upper paddle flexes just enough to disperse the tissue for an accurate exam, but not so much it compromises your comfort in the process. Because the equipment is so new, patient motion during this exam is reduced. This decreases the chances of having to retake films.

We also offer a soft "mammopad", to place between your breast and the filming device. This cushion adds more comfort for those with sensitive breasts.

What you need to know about your mammogram
If you've recently nursed, you need to wait about 6 months for your breast tissue to return to normal before having a mammogram. We screen women with implants but it requires a longer appointment since we'll take 8 films instead of the standard 4. Please make your annual screening appointment a few days in advance, bring a doctor's order and previous films so we can compare the new films to older studies.

Expanded services available at our Center
In addition to both diagnostic and screening mammograms, we offer breast ultrasounds and bone densitometry (DEXA scan) for osteoporosis. Invasive procedures include ultra-sound core biopsy (biopsy via needle), cyst aspirations and needle localization. For more information or to set up an appointment at our center, call 327-8702.
